Overview

What are office headshots and how do they work?

Office headshots are professional portraits shot on-location at your workplace, not at a studio. We bring lighting, backdrop, and gear, set up in one room, and rotate employees through in 8 to 15 minute slots.

The whole point is logistics. Nobody drives anywhere. Each person walks down the hall, sits for a few shots, and walks back.

A 20-person team can be photographed between 9am and 1pm without the office skipping a beat.

If your team would rather come to our studio, see business headshots in Fort Myers for studio individuals.

What do you need from our office space?

Not much. One room with about 10 by 12 feet of clear floor space, a single power outlet, and a door that closes.

  • Conference room. Most common choice. 8-foot or taller ceilings, neutral walls, a closing door.
  • Large private office. Works fine if floor space hits the 10 by 12 minimum.
  • Unused training room or breakroom. Off-peak hours. Quiet, controllable.
  • Skip open-plan floors. Glass walls facing busy hallways distract subjects who are already nervous.
  • Skip rooms shorter than 9 feet of usable depth. Lighting cannot back up far enough.

What's Different

How long does an onsite office headshot shoot take?

Plan on 8 to 15 minutes per person once setup is dialed in. Add 45 minutes of setup at the start and 20 minutes of breakdown at the end. Three common schedules.

Half-day onsite, up to 15 people

Arrive 8am, set up by 8:45. Shoot 9 to noon, break down by 12:30. Each employee signs up for a 15-minute slot and comes when it is their turn.

Full-day onsite, 16 to 30 people

9 to 4 with a 30-minute lunch break. The office coordinator splits the team into morning and afternoon blocks.

Two-day onsite, 31 to 50 people

Two days avoids team burnout and leaves room for absent employees on day two. Same backdrop and lighting across both days.

Why do Fort Myers offices choose JA Headshots for onsite shoots?

Joshua Albanese founded a top-10 US headshot studio in Chicago in 2007 and relocated to Fort Myers in 2024. Across 18 years and 15,000+ sessions, he has shot onsite at law firms, financial offices, and medical practices. Tech companies and construction firms too. The onsite process is rehearsed.

Minimal footprint

Two rolling cases, one backdrop stand, one outlet. We do not wander the office, move furniture, or take over common areas. In and out.

Schedulable by the minute

Each person is in front of the camera 8 to 15 minutes. Your office manager builds a sign-up sheet, employees walk down the hall when it is their turn, and walk back. Nobody loses more than 20 minutes of the day.

Laptop tethering for real-time review

Joshua shoots tethered so your coordinator can review images all day. No waiting until delivery to find out half the team blinked. New-hire reshoots use the same backdrop and lighting later.
What's Different

What does the onsite setup actually look like?

Two rolling cases and a backdrop stand. Setup runs 40 to 50 minutes. Breakdown runs about 20. The kit list is intentionally small.

Lighting

Two pro strobes on stands with softboxes, powered from one standard outlet. The kit follows PetaPixel on shooting on-location corporate headshots for color and exposure consistency. No extension cords running through doorways.

Backdrop

Collapsible 5x7 foot backdrop in your chosen color. Solid white, light gray, dark gray, or charcoal as standard. Brand color matches need two weeks notice.

Camera and tether

Joshua shoots tethered to a laptop so your coordinator reviews images live. No green room, hair-and-makeup station, or catering table required. Employees show up, get photographed, go back to work.

What's Different

Office shoots vs. studio shoots: which one fits your team?

Both produce the same image quality. The choice is purely logistical.

Pick onsite when:

your team is 10+ people in Fort Myers or nearby SWFL. Your employees bill by the hour or cannot leave the building. Your schedule is tight enough that commute time across the staff would add real cost.

Pick studio when:

your team is under 10 people, or you do not have a conference room big enough. You want employees in a controlled environment without coworker distractions. Or you would rather not host a photographer at the office.
See business headshots for studio individuals or team headshots for studio groups.
Some offices book a hybrid. Onsite for the bulk of the team, studio visits for stragglers and new hires. Same backdrop, same lighting, same consistent result.

Not within 45 miles of the Fort Myers studio. That covers Cape Coral, Estero, Bonita Springs, and most of Naples. Offices farther out get a flat travel add-on quoted at booking.
About 10 feet wide by 12 feet deep of clear floor space, plus one power outlet and a door that closes. A standard conference room almost always works.
Each employee spends 8 to 15 minutes in front of the camera. Counting walk-down and walk-back, plan on under 20 minutes off-desk per person.
Yes. New-hire add-on sessions use the same backdrop, lighting, and retouching style as the original onsite. The new headshot drops onto the team page without standing out.
We fit them in later in the day if a gap opens. Or we schedule a makeup session at our studio with the same backdrop and lighting. Nobody's headshot looks different from the rest of the team.
Usually not for the main setup. Open spaces add noise, distractions, and uncontrolled light. We prefer a closed room. If your only option is open, send a photo at booking and we see if it works.
No. If the team wants pro styling, hire a stylist separately and have them onsite during the shoot. Most offices skip it and let employees handle their own grooming.
Standard turnaround is 48 to 72 hours from shoot day. 24-hour rush is available if you need images for a product launch, investor deck, or press release.

Office Headshot Reference

Office headshot vocabulary

Concepts that shape an on-site office headshot session.

Headshot

A tightly framed portrait focused on the face, shoulders, and expression. Used for LinkedIn profiles, company about pages, press kits, and any context where a single image stands in for the person.

Personal branding

The deliberate shaping of how a professional presents themselves in public-facing channels. A headshot is the visual anchor of a personal brand; the same person can read confident, approachable, or commanding depending on how the portrait is shot, lit, and edited.

Three-point lighting

A standard portrait lighting setup that uses a key light, a fill light, and a backlight to shape the subject and separate them from the background. It is the foundation of most studio headshots because it produces a flattering, dimensional look without harsh shadows.

Photo retouching

Post-production work that cleans up skin, color, stray hair, wardrobe wrinkles, and background imperfections without changing the subject's identity. Every selected image from a JA Headshots session includes professional retouching at no extra cost.
